Did you know, when jointing high voltage cables the environment needs to be carefully controlled?
In this example, 132kV overhead transmission lines are being realigned to an underground route to provide for the construction of a new motorway.
This specialised, tented scaffolding has been erected to create a clean area to minimise the cable sealing ends exposure to contaminants such as dust and moisture.
The work undertaken inside is incredibly technical with no margin for error.
The process is planned strategically to minimise outages and align with the associated construction works program.
Our team planned and completed this critical jointing scope ahead of the later phase of connection to the overhead transmission lines.
This reduced the required outage time, ensured only one outage was required for the entire scope, and mitigated the risk of impact to the overall works program.
At Ausconnex we are immensely proud of our people, and what they achieve on projects throughout New South Wales every day.
