Who says you can’t mix Work and Play(Doh)?

At Ausconnex, safety is a core value. This is supported by regular Safety Days, where our Construction and Delivery team attend workshops delivered by internal and external subject matter experts. This ensures our team is at the forefront of HSE matters and is also an opportunity for our teams to collaborate and share learnings.
Our most recent Safety Day, attended by almost forty of our organisational leaders, project managers, site engineers and site supervisors, was a resounding success in team building, education, and collaboration.

Team building
Throughout the day, staff participated in a series of individual and group challenges. Everyone used their well-honed skills to maximum effect:
teamwork,
careful coordination and planning, and
keeping a cool head under pressure
The energy in the room was electric!

Presentations
As well as reinforcing Ausconnex’s day-to-day management systems and functions, we hosted informative presentations from industry leaders:
• Hilti Australia, presented on managing noise and vibration in the construction industry, with an emphasis on how to reduce impact in those environments.
• WD Environmental Consulting on encountering and managing unexpected finds when excavating – e.g. contamination (such as asbestos) or historical artifacts.
• Kingston Reid Legal Services, delivered an engaging session on Work Health and Safety and Heavy Vehicle National Legislation Due Diligence.
